ATAVA is a Southern California sauna design studio founded by designers with backgrounds in high-end residential and commercial architecture. The studio was established on the belief that sauna culture deserves architectural integrity — that the spaces built around heat, ritual, and wellness should be as considered as any other room in a home or hospitality property. ATAVA operates across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, working with private homeowners, boutique hotels, and wellness businesses.
The wellness boom didn't create sauna culture — it discovered it. For generations, Scandinavians have known what heat does to a body, a mind, a relationship. What it has never had, until now, is architecture that truly honors it.
As California natives, we have witnessed the surge in sauna culture across our home — the coast, the mountains, the forest — and saw prefabricated structures filling a market that deserved so much more. Nowhere could we find a truly custom, design-first sauna company. So we built one.
